About Me

Hello I am Courtney Tucker. Welcome to my portfolio site. Here you will find only the best of what I love to create. I have been fascinated by games and art my whole life. To this day I am both a passionate artist and an avid gamer. I have played many different game types and my two favorites by far are First Person Shooters and Role Playing Games. I believe these two game types most capture how I like to operate in real life. I consider myself goal oriented and motivated to complete tasks to the best of my ability.

The first game I ever played was Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Game Boy Advance. When I look back, I can say that this was the point where I started down the path of wanting to learn how games work. I became most interested in the visual and artistic parts of games. I believe this passion followed me into high school where I strived to develop as strong of an artistic foundation as possible.

This passion ultimately led me to pursue a degree in Game Art and Design. During the process of my degree I was privileged to be a part of many group and individual projects. I was also privileged to get the opportunity to intern for Sony Online Entertainment working on the game Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. This internship really confirmed for me that this was the field I wanted to be in. I love being in a collaborative atmosphere where you can bounce ideas off of your team mates. I feel like the studio team is its own expression of art where everyone is bringing in their own personalities and talents and then these all get blended and mixed together to create the masterpiece that is an awesome game. I know that I want to be a part of that.

I also have a passion to continue learning. Every day is a new opportunity to learn a new skill and keep honing my craft. In addition to continuing to work on my 3D art, I am experimenting with level design. With a friend, I helped to create a 2D top down shooter with an art style reminiscent of a retro arcade game mixed with something your child might play on a smart phone. This project brought together my passion for making art and continuing to learn to make functional games.

I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my site. If you have any feedback for me I would love to hear it. Just head over to the "Contact Me" tab and shoot me an email. If you haven't already done so, take a minute to scan my resume. If you feel my skills and personality are a good fit for any open positions you might have, please don't hesitate to contact me.
